Dr. Buchsbaum received a Ph.D. in Physics and a Master of Pacific International Affairs from the Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Buchsbaum has served in the U.S. State Department as the Science and Technology Officer for South Asia as a Program Manager in the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, and was the Founding Director of the Office of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive Defense in the Homeland Security Advance Research Projects Agency of the Department of Homeland Security. He was selected and served as a Science and Diplomacy Fellow at the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He was also selected as an American Physical Society Congressional Fellow, and has been registered into the U.S. Foreign Service. Dr. Buchsbaum is currently the Deputy Director for Discovery Strategy at the Global Health program at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Bob Casale is currently a consultant and serves on the Board of Topaz Pharmaceuticals, a specialty pharmaceutical company. Formerly, Bob was Chief Operating Officer of Adams Respiratory Therapeutics. Mr. Casale joined Adams in 2004 as vice president, business development and consumer marketing and subsequently, was named executive vice president, chief marketing and development officer in 2005. He was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in October 2006. Bob was the driving force behind the marketing of Mucinex, which grew from $60 million to near $400 million under his leadership. He also led the diversification of the Adams portfolio of products by launching Mucinex D and DM, Mucinex for Children, Mucinex Nasal Spray and acquiring the Delsym brand. Adams was sold to Reckitt Benckiser in January of 2008 for $2.3 billion.
